original acrylic / mixed media painting on archival Arches paper
12” x 9”
These original acrylic paintings are based in nature, featuring a contemporary look to the common poppies and fuchsia flowers. The poppies are in a sea of slate blue, teal and sage green. The fuchsia pinkish-purple flowers are in soil of sage green, slate blue, and teal. Reminding the art buyer of their garden and sunny days in June here in Wisconsin by Lake Superior.
Not only is there Sue’s signature line work and mark, but there just enough spontaneous mark making, splashes and splatters. It may make you feel like you are right there in the garden actually watching them wave in the breeze.
These paintings would look beautiful with white frames and large mats. Consider combining these gems on a wall in an arrangement, similar to the contemporary room illustrated. (Frames not included.)
The series was created in the summer of 2020 in the belief that what we paint not only matters, but can effect the atmosphere. We are fractured this summer, but as we dream and prophesy through our art, there is hope of unity (which is not to be confused with agreement.)
