Ever since visiting Duluth in 2017, I’ve wanted to paint this scene. What better time than during a snow storm?
This acrylic painting was created from a photograph of one of my happy places. There’s a sense of peace I find when I’m in New Mexico. I’m grateful I carry it with me in new chapters of life!
Layers & layers of patterns & colors developed and evolved into a new world of abstract expression. This painting is 16” x 20”, unframed. Sides are painted & varnished so you can hang it without a frame.
The background of this painting is an abstract of blues with highlight bursts of color. Hummingbird line drawing was drawn freehand in white.
I used brushes & paint pens with acrylic paint on a stretched canvas then sealed it with varnish to protect the painting & colors. Although it’s unframed, the edges/sides of the canvas are also painted for a finished look.
I had a great time creating this multilayered abstract effort. The textured patterns, geometric shapes & colors peaking through the mist combine in a fun way to brighten the walls.
