POTTERY

Jonathan Walburg

Throughout my travels and studies in Japan and Korea, I collected pottery and shards. I felt like I was taking home a piece of that place.
I loved this Idea and wanted to share in this experience.
A piece of here on your table.
Flavor of the area.

I use beach-sand from the South Shores of Lake Superior mixed into porcelain. This creates random black spots from the iron-rich sand. The local clay is also iron-rich and is mixed into the clay or glaze creating rich dark greens, reds, browns and blacks. I make traditional ash-glazes from local Maple and Oak trees.

CANDLES

Wickie Candle Company

A partnership born on the Bayfield Peninsula on the South Shore of Lake Superior. Stephanie and Chris bought Wickie Candle in the spring of 2019 from a dear friend and have been making it their own and highlighting Wickie Candles, melts and lotions at their small studio on the main street of Washburn, Wisconsin ever since. Like you, we share a deep love for the Lake. We love Lake Superior’s sandy beaches and nearby lush forests, lakeside bonfires in the summer, snowshoeing in the winter, and bountiful apple orchards in the fall.

PAINTING

Richard W Dillon

A Twin Cities native, Dillon spends days in his studios located in Bayfield, WI & St Paul, MN. He holds a BA in Studio Arts & Business from the University of Minnesota. His work is primarily oil painting with a variety of curious sculpture over the years. His work and art style is mostly considered Post Modern or Expressionistic. Dillon describes his work as, “Art with a Grin, because I try to infuse humor in much of my work.“ Dillon’s paintings & poetry are influenced by impressions from life, travels and practical living.

FIBER ARTS

Cathy's Homestead Weaving

My Grandma taught me to weave on my first loom over 37 years ago. I started out selling my rugs in Green Bay, WI at farm markets and small craft shows. We moved up to Northern Wisconsin in 1998, and in 2004 my husband Mark joined me weaving full time. We expanded our weaving business to 12 looms which enables us to offer 5 different rug widths, and many lengths. We also weave wall hangings, tapestries, table runners, placemats, tank toppers, hand bags, mini runners and mug rugs.
